Take a moment to relax in the Redwood Suites’ spacious, well-appointed guest rooms, each with its own private bathroom. Our VI Restaurant is a local favorite and is where you’ll pick up your complimentary daily Grab and Go breakfast. You might also try one of Ferndale’s other home-spun restaurants located within easy walking distance of your suite.
The elegant Victorian Inn building: A Redwood Architectural Gem
In 1890, banker Ira C. Russ, a prominent member of one of Ferndale’s founding families, created the Russ Building (at the then-impressive cost of $12,000). This magnificent monument is today known as the Victorian Inn and VI Restaurant – a tribute to luxury, comfort and craftsmanship, built entirely of native redwood. This building stands as a historic and notable architectural testament to its time. The Victorian Inn offers 13 beautifully appointed bed and breakfast rooms and is home to The VI Restaurant & Tavern and Silva’s Fine Jewelry.
It is one of the most photographed buildings in Northern California. The Inn embodies the elegance and romance of the timber boom era, with a classic Redwood long bar where guests may enjoy Humboldt County’s broadest selection of local wines by the glass or a cocktail from the full-service bar.
Tesla Charging Station Available Free to Guests
Victorian Inn, Redwood Suites and the VI Restaurant are excited to offer Tesla Charging Stations at Redwood Suites and the Victorian Inn, at 400 Ocean Avenue, Ferndale. The charging stations provide a convenient and fast charging solution for Tesla owners staying at one of our two inns near Redwoods National Park or while dining in our restaurant.

Hotel Policies
Check-In is 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We are pleased to accommodate a later check in. If arriving past 8:00 PM, please call and make your arrangements with the front desk. If you should arrive in town before 3:00, check with us and if your room is available we’ll go ahead and check you in early.
Check-Out is by 11:00 AM
Cancellations must be made 3 days in advance of your planned arrival. The first night’s lodging plus tax will be charged to your credit card in the event of a late cancellation or “No Show”. (Two- or three-nights lodging will be charged, respectively, if your reserved dates require a two or three-night minimum stay.) If you have reserved your stay with a gift certificate, it will be voided and no longer valid in the event of a no show or late cancellation.
Please! No Pets and No Smoking in the Guest Rooms. A $200 cleaning fee will be charged to your credit card if you bring in a pet, smoke or allow others to smoke in your room.
All rates are for single or double occupancy. There is a $25 per person charge for more than two guests in a room.
